Seeking medical care due to being uninsured or underinsured should be the last thing on anyone’s mind during these uncertain times. Altru’s HERO Program recognizes the current circumstances of people getting laid off and leaving many without health insurance during this pandemic. Altru wants the members of the community to know we remain dedicated to serving the healthcare coverage needs of our region. Altru Health System has allowed our dedicated Certified Application Counselors to remain readily available to assist individuals needing assistance in obtaining healthcare coverage during this crisis. If you have experienced any of the following, we are here to help.
- Loss of Employer-Sponsored Insurance: You may qualify for a special enrollment period to purchase a plan on the ACA marketplace with a tax credit to lower your monthly premium.
- Loss of Employment or Decrease in Hours: You may qualify for medical assistance or another Medicaid product.
- Reside in Minnesota: All Minnesota residents who do not currently have insurance are eligible for a special enrollment period to purchase insurance plans through MNSURE until April 21, 2020. You do not need to be sick to qualify and coverage will go back to April 1st, 2020.
We never want patients to not seek medical care due to not having insurance.
