Overview

Cholangitis is a disease of the common bile duct. The bile duct is a tube that carries bile from the gallbladder to the small intestine. Cholangitis can happen when a gallstone or tumor blocks the duct, causing bacteria to build up.

Symptoms

Symptoms include belly pain, chills, fever and dark urine.

Treatments

Treatments include medicine and surgery.
