Understanding the Limitations
While home health care can offer patients convenience and comfort, it's important to understand that there are certain limitations to the services we provide. Below are the key limitations associated with our home health care that you should be aware of.
Limitations in Care:
- Psychiatric evaluation, therapy and counseling services
- Speech therapy
- Do not pay for durable medical equipment
- Do not provide approved osteoporosis drug for treatment of post-menopausal osteoporosis
- Place or replace nasogastric or percutaneous tubes
- Maintenance of peripheral lines
- Long-term therapy maintenance program
- Scheduled twice-a-day visits
- Limited availability for daily skilled visits
- Home health aide services available during office hours excluding holidays and weekends and typically available 1-3 times a week for personal cares and assistance with activities to support skilled therapy only
- Shortwave and microwave diathermy treatments
- Infra-red treatments, paraffin baths and whirlpool baths
- Designing, fabricating and fitting of Orthotic and self-help devices
- Vocational and prevocational assessment and training
